Terms
The terms you're agreeing to by reading and by sending us things.
Plain terms for a small paper.
What this is. The Lantern · New Carlisle is a working pilot. Articles are written by software from public records and, at present, no person edits them before they publish. We believe them to be accurate and we check every figure against its source, but this is not professional advice of any kind — legal, financial, medical or otherwise. Where something matters to you, read the underlying filing, which we link on every article.
The public records reproduced here are works of the United States government and of Ohio agencies. Our own writing and design are ours; you are welcome to quote us with attribution and a link.
What you send us. By sending a tip or an enquiry you confirm it is yours to send, and you allow us to use it in our reporting. You keep ownership of it. Do not send us anything unlawful, and do not send us confidential material you are not free to share.
Availability. The paper runs on free hosting and may be slow to wake or briefly unavailable. Government APIs go down and take desks with them; when that happens the desk says so rather than showing stale content as if it were current.
Changes. These terms will change as the paper grows a newsroom. The version you are reading is the one that applies.
