The AI systems read the public record and draft the routine coverage; you review every story before it publishes, correct and contextualize it, and put your name behind it. You take the calls, read the tips, sit in the meetings that matter, and report the stories software can't.

You should know New Carlisle — or a town like it — and care what happens to it. Prior newsroom experience helps but is not required; judgment, curiosity, and comfort saying "that's wrong, fix it" to a machine are.

Part-to-full time, flexible, based in or near New Carlisle. Compensation set with the nonprofit's board and published, like everything else about this paper.
