Ariston recalls gas boilers over fire, CO risk
The company is recalling residential gas boilers sold through heating contractors after reports of cracked parts that can let gas build up and ignite.
Ariston Canada Inc., formerly known as NTI Boilers, is recalling 4,726 NTI and HTP residential gas boilers sold in the United States. Another 2,261 were sold in Canada. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on October 29, 2026. CPSC
What the hazard is
The condensate dish inside the boiler can crack during a delayed ignition. That can let unburned gas build up inside the sealed cabinet. If the gas ignites, the front cover can suddenly detach, which the commission says poses a risk of serious injury or death from fire, carbon monoxide poisoning and impact. CPSC
The company has received 34 reports of the dish cracking, including three where the front cover came off. In one case, a technician working on the boiler suffered a broken jaw. The boilers were sold through independent heating and plumbing contractors and wholesale distributors nationwide from May 2021 through July 2026. CPSC
What to do
Consumers should stop using the recalled boilers right away and contact Ariston to schedule a free repair by a certified technician. Anyone who must keep using a boiler while waiting for repair should have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home. Ariston can be reached at 800-688-2575 on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, or through ntiboilers.com and htproducts.com. This is a national recall, and the commission does not say where any of the boilers were installed. CPSC
