Ohioans filed 12,273 applications to start a business in November 2023, seasonally adjusted, according to the Census Bureau's Business Formation Statistics. That is down from 12,425 the month before. A year earlier the figure was 11,925. Of the applications, 3,556 came from businesses the Census Bureau judges likely to hire employees. The figures are statewide; the Census Bureau does not publish them for New Carlisle.
