Ohioans filed 13,147 applications to start a business in April 2025, seasonally adjusted, according to the Census Bureau's Business Formation Statistics. That is up from 12,422 the month before. A year earlier the figure was 12,745. Of the applications, 3,497 came from businesses the Census Bureau judges likely to hire employees. The figures are statewide; the Census Bureau does not publish them for New Carlisle.
