Ohioans filed 12,943 applications to start a business in June 2025, seasonally adjusted, according to the Census Bureau's Business Formation Statistics. That is down from 13,142 the month before. A year earlier the figure was 11,521. Of the applications, 3,589 came from businesses the Census Bureau judges likely to hire employees. The figures are statewide; the Census Bureau does not publish them for New Carlisle.
