Ohioans filed 14,231 applications to start a business in July 2025, seasonally adjusted, according to the Census Bureau's Business Formation Statistics. That is up from 12,943 the month before. A year earlier the figure was 11,491. Of the applications, 3,662 came from businesses the Census Bureau judges likely to hire employees. The figures are statewide; the Census Bureau does not publish them for New Carlisle.
