Ohioans filed 13,210 applications to start a business in August 2025, seasonally adjusted, according to the Census Bureau's Business Formation Statistics. That is down from 14,231 the month before. A year earlier the figure was 11,856. Of the applications, 3,563 came from businesses the Census Bureau judges likely to hire employees. The figures are statewide; the Census Bureau does not publish them for New Carlisle.
