Ohioans filed 13,657 applications to start a business in March 2026, seasonally adjusted, according to the Census Bureau's Business Formation Statistics. That is down from 14,058 the month before. A year earlier the figure was 12,422. Of the applications, 3,553 came from businesses the Census Bureau judges likely to hire employees. The figures are statewide; the Census Bureau does not publish them for New Carlisle.
