Freeze warning holds through Sunday morning in Clark County
The National Weather Service kept a Freeze Warning running overnight for Clark County as temperatures were set to drop into the upper 20s and lower 30s.
The National Weather Service kept a Freeze Warning in place for Clark County into Sunday morning. Forecasters said sub-freezing temperatures could kill crops and tender outdoor plants, and told people to protect them right away NWS.
How the warning took shape
The weather service first flagged the cold as a Freeze Watch Friday afternoon, warning that sub-freezing temperatures were possible overnight into Sunday NWS. That watch was cancelled just after midnight Saturday and immediately replaced with a Freeze Warning covering the same area NWS +1. The warning was updated again Saturday afternoon and then at 9:02 p.m., extending the cold into early Sunday with lows as low as 30 degrees expected from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. NWS +2.
By early Sunday forecasters said temperatures were warming, and the warning was set to expire at 10:15 a.m. NWS.
This report is based on Freeze Watch and Freeze Warning alerts issued by the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, Ohio, between October 16 and October 18, 2026 NWS +6.
